ABOUT ME

Thomas Martin Saturday is Thomas Martin Sobottke.  Academic Historians eschew  becoming  novelists or writing popular narrative history, So I've Anglicized my name for any creative fiction I care to write.  And I have a great many stories to tell.  I've thirty years in the classroom and a Ph.D. in History from Marquette University, I am Adjunct Professor of History at Carroll University.   I've written a body of my own poetry and continue to do so. I'm a blogger too.  I am a regular contributor to WUWM-FM Milwaukee's Lake Effect program.

Broadly speaking I am a writer.  The creative muse so many writers are happily afflicted with is my constant companion.  I love classic English mystery novels, and am an Anglophile.  I just love Baseball and am a long-suffering Cub fan.  I was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1955 and grew up in the suburbs in the seemingly placid 1950's and the stormy and portentous 1960's with so many of my Baby Boom generation.  Married, with three children and one grandchild, I live in the Milwaukee Metro Area with my wife Kathryn who to me is "The Woman."  We have two teenage children who remain at home so I stay young and active.  If anyone can tell me how to control a 203 pound St. Bernard dog named Chumley I'd be appreciative.  He just does not seem to know how big he is.  Being greeted by a St. Bernard requires having a towel handy.  Just remember--dog slobber is a sign of affection from the family pet and is completely sanitary.  To complete the menagerie is Johhny our Bunny.--a refugee from our 18-year-old son's ninth year.  I look forward to writing and giving you so many more novels to read and enjoy with that cup of tea or coffee in that favored chair in that most comfortable room on an afternoon, where you can enter a different world for a few hours to be entertained and to be lost in some great adventure.  Enjoy!
